Tebowing

I'm sure you have all heard of the catch phrase of "Tebowing." I assume that because of what social media does in today's day and age.
The reference to Tim Tebow on one knee and portraying his body language to create a religious image has caught on tremendously. Everybody "Tebows" now, and if they don't, they've heard of it. In every game, there he is, on the sideline, on one knee, with one hand to his forehead. Not only has media blown up his ritual by putting it all over the internet and television, but news reports have actually debated whether the religious affiliation is appropriate.
The main idea here, is that something that one player does before, during, and after a game, can be made historical. Something can be made out of nothing; a small deal, can be made a huge deal.

  1. I agree with this completely. Social media has blown so many different issues out of proportion and made a mountain out of a mole hill in most cases. Just because the guy wants to pray and have faith in his team what is it to us that he does this? Social media blew this out of proportion and portrayed him as a bad person for doing it. Granted without all this attention he would not be nearly as popular but this is something that we need to watch out for.

  2. Absolutely true. Everything on social media done by famous people and athletes will be blown up with everyone wanting to do them or will go unnoticed. It is as though they is no in between, that it will be known around the country or it will be not. It is pretty much what we the people deem as important.

  3. This is true with social media today anything can be made into a huge sensation even just in one night. With all the coverage constantly focused on sports and their athletes combined with the largely popular Tim Tebow that is a perfect set of factors to make something historical such as "Tebowing".
